Who operates this service
ParamJyotish is operated by Darshankumar Joshi. This notice explains information used by this website, its account service and kundli tools. For access, correction, erasure, consent withdrawal or a privacy concern, contact me@darshj.ai. We may need to verify account ownership before acting.
Account and birth information
We store your account name, email address, a password hash, verification records, preferences and saved kundlis. A kundli may include a name, birth date and time, birthplace, coordinates, UTC offset, optional family details, notes and tags. Enter another person’s information only with appropriate permission. Saved kundlis are not public; account holders and authorized administrators can view them. Administrators have read-only access to saved birth details and reports for service administration and support. The current saved-kundli limit is two.
Sign in with Google
If you choose Google sign-in, Google shares your account identifier, verified email address and basic profile information such as your name. We use these to create or securely link your ParamJyotish account and keep a record of the Google account identifier and linked email. We do not request access to your Gmail messages, contacts, Drive files or calendar, and do not retain Google access or refresh tokens. Temporary secure cookies protect the sign-in redirect. Google processes the sign-in under its own privacy policy. You can also use email signup and sign-in.
IP addresses and approximate location
For account security we record IP addresses and times for successful registration/sign-in and rejected password or code attempts, plus browser information for your latest sign-in. Authorized administrators can review these records and request the approximate city, region and country associated with your latest sign-in IP. The server sends public IP addresses over HTTPS to IPWhois (ipwho.is) for this lookup and, on the home page when you have not chosen a language, to offer an optional language suggestion. You can accept or dismiss the suggestion; it never changes the page language by itself, and nothing is saved until you choose. The page language comes from your saved choice, a language link (?lang=) or your browser’s language settings. This does not request precise GPS location; IP-based location can be inaccurate, especially with mobile networks or VPNs. Language and location results share a keyed, hashed-IP cache for up to 24 hours in server memory; no additional location history is stored. The provider’s own privacy policy also applies.
Cookies and browser storage
Essential session cookies keep you signed in for up to seven days. If you choose Remember this device, a separate token can recognize it for up to 90 days; your password is still required when using email sign-in. Password changes or device revocation remove that trust. Browser storage remembers language, chart/display choices, navigation and whether the welcome animation has played. You can clear it in your browser, which may reset those preferences.
Notifications
Administrators can send a notice to all accounts or one account. We store its text, recipient, delivery state and read status in your notification centre, and the bell shows recent in-session notices. Notices sent by email follow the email choices described below. Device alerts require permission and can be turned off. Browser push uses an encrypted subscription endpoint and browser-provider transport; Android uses our first-party connection and scheduled catch-up, so background delivery can be delayed.
Email choices and service providers
Verification, password recovery and essential account messages are sent through the configured email delivery service. Authorized administrators can also send individual account or support messages titled Notice or Urgent to your registered email address using the ParamJyotish template. Optional sign-in alerts and confirmed newsletter subscriptions have their own controls and unsubscribe links. Essential messages needed to complete your requested action are not marketing. Hosting and email providers process information needed to operate the service; IPWhois receives the IP address for the optional language suggestion and administrator location lookups. Providers may process data outside your country. We do not embed advertising trackers in this website. Personalised daily prediction emails use your default saved kundli’s birth details, language and UTC offset, and include its name and reading. They start enabled unless an existing optional-email opt-out was carried forward; delivery requires a verified account email and a valid default kundli. Turn them off in Settings or confirm unsubscribe through an email footer. This does not turn off essential account security emails.
Retention and cached reports
Security events are removed after up to 90 days, with an additional size cap; latest sign-in IP/browser details are cleared after 90 days of inactivity. Expired sessions, codes and device tokens are cleaned up during maintenance or related account operations. Accounts and saved kundlis remain until removed through available controls or an accepted erasure request. PDF previews and downloads share a private stored report: unchanged inputs reuse that snapshot, including its original transit date. Changed birth/report inputs or a report-version update may create a new copy. Backups may retain earlier copies until rotated; we do not promise immediate removal from every backup. Daily-email delivery records contain the account, local date, status and attempt information; records older than 90 days are removed when the delivery worker runs. We no longer offer community, messaging or calling features and no longer collect data for them; any remaining records from those features are erased when you delete your account.
Administrator access records
When an authorised administrator changes an account, bans or restores it, sends a password reset or opens private records such as saved kundlis or an approximate sign-in location, we record who acted, when, the action, the reason or purpose they gave and a request reference. Kundli and location records can only be opened after the administrator chooses a purpose, and sensitive changes require the administrator to confirm their identity again. These administrator records are kept for 400 days so misuse can be investigated, and cannot be edited or removed during that time. Security events about your own sign-ins still follow the 90-day limit described above.
Your controls and security
You can edit your profile, change viewing preferences, delete saved kundlis, revoke remembered devices and disable optional email. To delete your account, open Settings → Account and data and confirm it is you with your password or, for Google sign-in accounts, an emailed code. Erasure is scheduled seven days later and you can cancel until then. It then removes your account, saved kundlis and cached reports, email preferences and any remaining records from discontinued community features; security records are kept without IP addresses until their normal expiry. An administrator account must lose the administrator role before it can be deleted. You can also email us for data access or help with erasure. We use access controls, password hashing, HTTPS and private server storage; no system can promise absolute security. Avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information.
Data sources and attribution
Place names and coordinates for birthplace search come from GeoNames (geonames.org), used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence (CC BY 4.0). Birthplace search runs against a copy of this list held on our own servers; what you type is not sent to GeoNames. Astronomical positions come from Astronomy Engine by Don Cross (MIT licence), checked against Swiss Ephemeris 2.10.03 by Astrodienst. Time-zone rules come from the IANA tz database.
Children and changes
Readings are traditional interpretations, including the general guidance shown to minors. A parent or guardian should supervise a child’s use and permission to share personal information. Contact us about information submitted without appropriate permission. We will update this page when practices change and show the revision date.
